While I love photography in film, digital is becoming it's own art form. Photoshop takes skill to use and in a way it is "developing" the digital image. In that sense, I like to use digital alternative process a lot. This picture just came to me, I don't know why. I called up my friend and asked him if he would go be my model and hold a balloon. I guess this picture just describes my emotion at the time, whatever that was.

Ideas

Sometimes ideas don't have to make sense. They just come to you and express your emotion in its most raw and real form. It's hard to explain some of my photos.

Polaroids

So these are my first artistic ventures into Polaroid photography. Soon to come, I will be doing Polaroid emulsion lifts and image transfers. Very excited about that. And eventually I will have a roll of Holga film coming up. BUT these were taken at an abandoned greenhouse. I just felt like having him hold a black balloon, dunno why really. It just sorta came to me. Polaroid Sun LMS on Polaroid 600 film.

Photo 1

So I created this blog so that I could post pictures and explain my thoughts behind them. It is my alternative to flickr. If you want to go to my flickr anyways, my name is teaisfortanner. Anyways this first photo I took about six months ago. It is of my friend Alex and I was trying to show how I felt at the time which was alienated and alone. The large window sorta shows that I think. I framed his head, because I love framing. Taken with a Minolta SRT-101 on Ilford B+W 400 film.
